Under the Friday night lights at the Pinto World Series, the Minooka 8U All Star season came to an end against the three time defending champs. Leading the Minooka offense, Ryan Norman went 2-2. Also adding a hit each were Zac Monnett, Ivan Dahlberg, and Logan Gieseke. St. Joes Blue went on to win the Pinto World Series. Good season Minooka, we are all very proud of the hard work and success.

Minooka 8U All-Stars 13, Channahon 11
Starting pitcher Ryan Norman threw three strong innings, allowing one run and striking out five. The offense was led by Ryan Norman, Jacob Ouimette, and Zac Monnett with three hits each. Ivan Dahlberg added a long triple, and Isaac Rinehart went 2 for 2 with a triple to deep center. Logan Gieseke had two hits and two RBI, while Dylan Graziano added a hit and an RBI. Minooka moves to 1-1 in Pinto World Series play.

Minooka 8U All-Stars 6, Plainfield Pounders 7
In a heartbreaker, Minooka lost a 5-2 lead in fifth and a 6-5 lead in sixth to drop game one of the Pinto World Series. Ivan Dahlberg pitched three strong innings, racking up 7 strikeouts and allowing only two runs. Jacob Ouimette led the offense, going 3 for 3, while Ryan Norman, Zac Monnett, and Ivan Dahlberg added two hits each. Isaac Rinehart had a two run single in the second inning to give Minooka an early lead.
Saturday, July 14th: PONY Sanctioned Pinto Regional Tournament @ Crest Hill
Minooka 8U All-Stars 5, Plainfield Thunder 6
In a tightly contested, well played game, a Minooka rally in the bottom of the 6th came up one run short. For Minooka, Ryan Norman, Ivan Dahlberg, and Jacob Ouimette led the offense with two hits each. Tommy Kuhel had a highlight diving catch in left field. Ivan Dahlberg pitched three strong innings, giving up one run and striking out 8 plainfield batters. Minooka finishes 3rd in the Regional.
Wednesday, July 11th: PONY Sanctioned Pinto Regional Tournament @ Crest Hill
Minooka 8U All Stars 13, Crest Hill 5
Minooka offense was led by Ivan Dahlberg, Zac Monnett, Jacob Ouimette, and Logan Gieseke each with two hits. Logan Gieseke racked up four big RBI, and Frankie Hummel homered to right center. Vince Sulima made a stellar defensive play at 3rd base. Minooka pitching combined for 16 strikouts including Zac Monnett striking out the side in the fifth and sixth innings. With the win, Minooka 8U All Stars clinched a birth in the Pinto World Series!
Sunday, July 8th: Whiteford 8U Holiday Tournament
Minooka 8U All Stars 13, Coal City 3
Ryan Norman, Ivan Dahlberg, and Zac Monnett all homered for the Minooka offense. Logan Gieseke added three hits for Minooka. Ryan Norman started and pitched two strong innings with three strikeouts. Jacob Ouimette also pitched well, and Zac Monnett closed with four straight strikouts. First baseman Frankie Hummel made several good defensive plays including a great pick of a low throw from shortstop. Minooka finishs in 5th place in the Whiteford 8U Holiday tournament.

Minooka 0, Whiteford 9
Frankie Hummel pitched two strong innings for Minooka. Ryan Norman and Jacob Ouimette had Minooka's only hits.
Wednesday, July 4th: Whiteford 8U Holiday Tournament
Minooka 19, Coal City 9
For Minooka, Ivan Dahlberg pitched two strong innings, giving up zero hits and racking up five strikeouts. The Minooka offense came alive with home runs from Ivan Dahlberg, Zac Monnett, and Jacob Ouimette. Ryan Norman went 4-4, with three RBI and three runs scored. Isaac Rinehart added three hits. Frankie Hummel closed out the game with a strong pitching performance. Minooka moves to 1-1 in pool play.
Monday, July 2nd: Whiteford 8U Holiday Tournament
Minooka 8U All-Stars 9, Plainfield 17
For Minooka, Ryan Norman, Tyler Selvy, Ivan Dahlberg, and Frankie Hummel each had two hits. Minooka starts the Whiteford 8U tournament with a loss, 0-1.
Sunday, July 1st: Channahon 4th of July Tournament Semi-Finals
Minooka 8U All-Stars 6, Troy 10
In a closely contested semi-final game, Troy scored five runs in the final two innings to win. For Minooka, Ivan Dahlberg led the offense with two hits, including a double. Camden Petrusich added a great diving catch in the outfield. Minooka finished 3rd in the 8-team tournament.
Saturday, June 30th: Channahon 4th of July Tournament
Minooka 8U All-Stars 6, St. Joes 12
Minooka held a 6-5 lead until St. Joes scored seven runs in the fifth inning to win the game. Frankie Hummel threw two shutout innings for Minooka, allowing only two hits and recording three strikouts. Frankie Hummel also led the Minooka offense with three hits and Tyler Selvy added two hits. Minooka finished pool play with a 2-1 record and the #1 seed in pool A heading into the semi-finals.
Thursday, June 28th: Channahon 4th of July Tournament
Minooka 8U All Stars 12, Channahon 1
Ivan Dahlberg and Zac Monnett combined for a four hitter in the four inning run rule game. Frankie Hummel had a double and two RBI and Tyler Selvy added a double and two RBI, while Tommy Kuhel, Zac Monnett, and Isaac Rinehart each had two hits. Jacob Ouimette had a double and a nice catch in the outfield. A double play was turned in by Zac Monnett catching a pop up and throwing to first baseman Ivan Dahlberg to double up a Channahon runner in the third. Minooka moves to 2-0 in the tournament.
Tuesday, June 26, 2012: Channahon 4th of July Tournament
Minooka 8U All Stars 8, Plainfield 6 Tommy Kuhel led the offense with two hits and three RBI. Ivan Dahlberg pitched three strong innings, giving up one run and striking out five. Ryan Norman hit a clutch two out, two run triple in the bottom of the fifth inning to tie the game. Ivan Dahlberg followed with a single to drive in the winning run. Great start to the 8U All Star tournament season!
